Htpasswd Generator FAQ:

How to get the full host path of my FTP server in step 2?

1. You must make sure your web site supports PHP scripts. If you are unsure about this, you can contact your web hosting provider, or just follow below steps, check whether it works.

2. Download this PHP file: fullpath.php from our website to your local computer. The file you downloaded is ZIP format, you should UN-ZIP it before following steps.

Click to download

3. Unzip the downloaded fullpath.zip file to fullpath.php, and upload the PHP file to your FTP root folder.

4. View the php file with your web browser. Suppose your website is http://www.mywebsite.com, you should view http://www.yourwebsite.com/fullpath.php.

5. In the web browser, you will get the full host path of your FTP root folder.

Be attention:

If your web site is not located under the FTP root folder, for example, it's in a subfolder "/public_html/", you should upload the fullpath.php file to the subfolder "/public_html", otherwise, you can not view the php file with the web browser from the address http://www.yourwebsite.com/fullpath.php.

Corresponding, if you have uploaded the php file to subfolder "/public_html/", you should delete suffix "public_html/" from the full host path which you have got from the web browser.
